Verito and NATP Introduce AI Governance and Cybersecurity Curriculum for Tax Professionals

May 22, 2026
Verito and the National Association of Tax Professionals have launched a new curriculum designed to help tax preparers manage AI use, data protection, and compliance under IRS and FTC requirements.

Verito and the National Association of Tax Professionals have launched an AI governance and cybersecurity curriculum for more than 23,000 NATP members nationwide, announced in a press release. The training program provides structured education on AI use, data handling, and compliance within daily tax workflows.

The curriculum is based on Verito’s Cyber Ready Tax Practice framework, which guides firms in managing AI tools, client data, and regulatory documentation. It includes modules on AI governance in tax workflows, building and maintaining Written Information Security Plans, and implementing modern data protection practices such as encryption and multi factor authentication. The first sessions will begin in the second quarter of 2026.

Participants will receive continuing education credits, policy templates, and vendor vetting checklists. The program is designed to help firms document AI use, meet IRS Publication 4557 and FTC Safeguards Rule standards, and operate in compliance with existing data protection regulations.

Verito has supported over 1,000 tax and accounting firms across major tax software platforms and maintains a long track record in secure infrastructure operations. NATP stated that the partnership aims to help members strengthen their cybersecurity posture and adapt to emerging technologies in tax practice.
