Klarna Partners with Google Cloud on AI Shopping Personalization

October 11, 2025
Klarna has entered a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to use its AI technology for personalized shopping, creative content generation, and fraud prevention across its global platform.

Klarna and Google Cloud have announced a strategic partnership to integrate advanced artificial intelligence solutions across Klarna’s global operations, according to a press release. The collaboration aims to enhance personalization, creative content generation, and security for Klarna’s 114 million users worldwide.

Klarna will use Google Cloud’s full AI stack—from infrastructure and platforms to generative models—to accelerate the development of new consumer-facing features. Early pilot projects using Google’s Veo 2 and Gemini 2.5 Flash Image models have produced dynamic digital lookbooks and personalized product campaigns, which the companies say boosted order volume by 50% and increased user engagement time by 15%.

The first phase of the partnership will focus on two areas. The creative production initiative will use generative media models to design in-app lookbooks and marketing visuals. The personalization effort will apply AI to enhance Klarna’s library of more than 200 million images, improving visual quality and tailoring content to individual preferences.

Klarna will also employ Google Cloud’s AI hardware to train and deploy graph neural networks for fraud detection and anti–money laundering monitoring. These systems are designed to identify anomalous patterns among users, transactions, and devices, strengthening the company’s security infrastructure while expanding its AI-driven shopping experience.
