Huawei Launches Next Generation FAN for AI Broadband Services

Nov 2, 2026
Huawei introduced its Next Generation FAN solution and a portfolio of optical access products for broadband operators at UBBF 2026 in Vienna.

Huawei announced in a press release its Next Generation FAN solution and a portfolio of optical access products at UBBF 2026 in Vienna. The products cover fiber deployment, network upgrades and Wi-Fi 7 equipment. Huawei also promotes AI-enabled Level 4 autonomous driving networks, which it says use AI technologies to boost network operations and maintenance efficiency.

For fiber deployment, Huawei introduced a four core PreConnection solution that uses plug and play installation without splicing. The company says it can cut investment by 20% and time to market by 70%. An indoor Access Terminal Box uses transparent cables and built in pigtails, with a claimed 75% reduction in deployment time.

FlexPON 2.0 Pro supports networks prepared for 10G PON using GPON investment, while FlexPON 3.0 supports networks prepared for 50G PON using 10G PON investment. Both support Combo SFP ports and existing optical network terminals.

The portfolio also includes tri band Wi-Fi 7 terminals, mesh products and fiber to the room equipment. A Wi-Fi 7 radar solution can detect intrusions or a person remaining motionless within seven meters. Huawei reports accuracy above 95% and a false positive rate below 1%.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
