Google Cloud Adds OpenAI Models to Model Garden

Oct 21, 2026
Google Cloud is adding OpenAI's GPT-Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to its model garden in private preview, sold through Google Cloud Marketplace.

OpenAI's latest models are coming to rival Google Cloud, which said it is launching GPT-Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna in its model garden. The models are rolling out now in private preview to select enterprise customers, with more coming soon.

Customers buy the models through Google Cloud Marketplace, so usage appears on a single Google Cloud invoice and draws down existing cloud commitments. Google Cloud says OpenAI models run on dedicated Google Cloud infrastructure, and that customer prompts and outputs stay within the customer's data perimeter and are not used to train foundation models.

OpenAI will also make its Codex coding agent available through Google Cloud in the coming weeks, Reuters reported. Google Cloud is the latest hyperscaler to offer OpenAI models after OpenAI's exclusive distribution arrangement with Microsoft expired in April; Amazon Web Services already sells them. Google Cloud says it is now the only hyperscaler offering all three leading closed-source model families.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
