Singapore's Health Sciences Authority has registered the KELLS AI Dental Scan as a Class B medical device. The consumer tool analyzes smartphone images of teeth for potential oral health concerns.

KELLS said in a press release that its AI Dental Scan was registered as a Class B medical device with Singapore's Health Sciences Authority. The company describes it as Singapore's first registered AI dental screening tool designed for direct consumer use.

Users capture images of their teeth with a smartphone. KELLS software analyzes the images to identify potential oral health concerns and indicate when professional care may be appropriate.

KELLS says the technology has been used in community and corporate oral health programs in Singapore. The scan is also part of its digital dental platform, which lets users monitor changes and connect with dental providers.
