Midstream Health Raises $20M to Recover Hospital Payments
Midstream Health recently raised a $20 million Series A led by Valtruis, with Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) returning as an investor, Inc. reports.
The company uses agentic AI to provide financial infrastructure that helps hospitals find financial leakage, negotiate better agreements and recover money they are owed. Inc. describes the problem it targets: a hospital negotiates a vendor rebate but never collects the full amount, an invoice does not match the agreed price, or a payment discrepancy goes unnoticed because the information is scattered across systems.
"Hospitals are doing some of the most important work in our country, yet many are struggling financially," said Venkat Mocherla, president and co-founder. "I wanted to build something that helps them recover money they're entitled to and put those dollars back toward patient care."
