AegisAI Raises $36 Million for Email Security Agents
AegisAI said in a press release that it raised $36 million in Series A funding led by Battery Ventures, with participation from Accel and Foundation Capital. The round brings the San Francisco company total funding to $49 million.
AegisAI builds large language models and AI agents for email security. The company said the new capital will support its autonomous defense agents, speed general availability of Vanguard, and expand enterprise sales.
Vanguard investigates threats beyond the inbox by following suspicious links and attachments across the web and returning threat reports. AegisAI said its system analyzes the intent of suspicious emails instead of relying only on patterns from earlier scams.
The company was founded in 2025 by Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo, former Google security leaders who worked on reCAPTCHA, Safe Browsing, and Web Risk. AegisAI said customers include Mesh, LangChain, and Lokker.
