Creandum closes $750 million eighth fund as it rebuilds around AI

Nov 2, 2026
Creandum has closed a $750 million fund for investments from the earliest stages through Series A, with a broader global focus and expanded presence in San Francisco.

Swedish venture firm Creandum has closed Creandum VIII, a $750 million fund for companies from pre-seed to Series A, the firm announced. Sifted describes it as the firm's largest fund to date.

The partners wrote that when Creandum VII closed in June 2024 "the AI wave was just beginning to accelerate," and that "two years later, we are in the eye of the AI storm." They said Creandum could have raised more but chose to keep its fund size disciplined and its approach generalist. Its backers include university endowments, pension funds and charitable foundations.

Creandum said much of how it sources, decides and supports investments is being rebuilt with AI at the core. It is also turning more global: with the build-out of its San Francisco office, its West Coast team is three times the size it was two years ago, as the firm moves from a European early-stage investor toward what it calls a global early-stage specialist.
