Workhorse and RHAELM Partner on TerraPod Modular Data Centers

Nov 2, 2026
RHAELM will pay Workhorse $10 million to build a TerraPod reference unit, while the companies consider an initial order for 150 systems.

Workhorse Group and RHAELM announced on 29 October a partnership to commercialize the TerraPod modular data center platform, according to a press release. The deal marks the Nasdaq listed commercial vehicle maker's entry into AI infrastructure; RHAELM is a London based developer of AI infrastructure built next to power generators. RHAELM will pay Workhorse $10 million to build a full size manufacturing reference unit at its facility in Union City, Indiana.

The companies also signed a nonbinding letter of intent outlining a potential supply agreement by 31 December 2026, with milestone based prepayments toward a first order. If finalized and approved, RHAELM would place an initial order for 150 TerraPod systems, while Workhorse would receive a right of first refusal to supply units for future RHAELM projects in the US.

TerraPod will combine computing equipment, power distribution, cooling, communications, system controls and fire suppression in factory built modules. Workhorse expects production could begin in late 2027 or early 2028.
