SpaceX AI Adds Two Mississippi Data Centers for 420,000 Nvidia GPUs
SpaceX AI is expanding Colossus 2 with two data center sites in Southaven, Mississippi, according to Data Center Dynamics. The sites, called Gun Range and Spam, will contain about 420,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs combined.
Gun Range will use two single story buildings on 55.9 acres for an AI training cluster. Musk said the site should become operational by the end of November. Spam will convert a former Hormel Foods warehouse on 53 acres into a facility focused on inference, with operations planned for December.
The sites will join the Macrohard, Macroharder, and Minihard locations, which are planned to contain 330,000, 220,000, and 220,000 GPUs respectively. Musk said Colossus 2 will have about 1.2 million Blackwell GPUs deployed by the end of 2026.
