Runware Plans 30 MW Daily Data Center Pod Production
Runware plans to scale production of its Sonic Inference Pods to 30 megawatts of data center capacity per day by 2028, according to TechCrunch. The target equals nearly 1 gigawatt of monthly capacity.
The company will assemble the modular data centers on a production line at its factories in Romania. Its second factory is expected to be completed within months and begin operating in early 2027. Runware says pod assembly, which previously took three weeks, could fall to one day as production increases.
Customers can provide a deployment site or ask Runware to find one. Installation and setup are expected to take up to 48 hours after delivery. Customers can supply their own GPUs or rent compute from Runware, while paying separate charges for power and internet.
Runware has raised more than $60 million and plans to seek Series B funding. It is using proceeds from a $50 million Series A round to complete and open the second factory.
