Wistron Opens First U.S. AI Smart Factory in Fort Worth
Wistron has opened its first manufacturing facility in the United States with the launch of the D1 AI smart factory in Fort Worth, Texas, according to a press release. The $700 million facility spans about 324,000 square feet and was unveiled during a ceremony attended by Wistron Chairman Simon Lin, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and local and Taiwanese officials.
The Fort Worth site is the production base for the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip, marking the first U.S. mass production of the advanced processor. The facility also plans to produce the upcoming NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superchip.
Wistron stated that the factory integrates NVIDIA accelerated computing systems and incorporates AI models Nemotron and Cosmos along with Omniverse and Metropolis libraries. These tools are combined with digital twin technology to refine factory design, workflow, and operational performance.
The new site serves as a key hub in Wistron’s global AI infrastructure network, providing local manufacturing capacity for advanced computing products in the United States.
