FuriosaAI Raises $620 Million to Scale Inference Chip Production
FuriosaAI raised $620 million at a $2.9 billion valuation to expand production of its AI inference processors, according to SiliconANGLE. South Korea's National Growth Fund led the round with a $280 million investment.
Cisco Investments, NeoFort Holdings, QUDA Capital Partners, Jericho Capital and Worldline Capital contributed another $110 million. Existing investors, including Korea Development Bank and NAVER, supplied the remainder.
FuriosaAI plans to produce 20,000 of its second generation chips in 2026 and 40,000 in 2027. The processors use the company's Tensor Contraction Processor architecture, which FuriosaAI says consumes less than half the power of Nvidia GPUs and supports frameworks including PyTorch and vLLM.
LG Group uses FuriosaAI chips for its EXAONE models, while Upstage uses them for search summaries. The company is also developing a third generation processor with Broadcom.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
