Pyka showcased its autonomous cargo aircraft, DropShip, during the U.S. Army Reserve's Combat Support Training Exercise, completing autonomous resupply and casualty evacuation missions.

Pyka successfully demonstrated its autonomous cargo aircraft, DropShip, during the U.S. Army Reserve's Combat Support Training Exercise (CSTX), announced in a press release. The exercise was part of Operation Sentinel Justice, aimed at testing new technologies for logistics and sustainment missions in challenging environments.

During CSTX, DropShip completed several autonomous operations including a 20 mile flight from Gulfport to Diamondhead, followed by a 200 pound precision airdrop. The aircraft also landed on a grass runway, confirming its ability to operate from unimproved surfaces. These demonstrations were conducted in collaboration with Army Reserve personnel to evaluate the aircraft’s performance in delivering supplies in contested areas.

Pyka also participated in a casualty evacuation scenario, showing how DropShip could support medical logistics and personnel extraction. With a payload capacity of up to 550 pounds and a range of up to 3,500 miles, the aircraft is designed for transporting critical supplies to locations that are difficult to reach with conventional aircraft.

The CSTX exercise marked a step in assessing autonomous aviation solutions for defense operations, highlighting the potential of runway independent systems for future military logistics.
