Lockheed Martin Demonstrates NetSense Drone Detection System
Lockheed Martin, Verizon, Keysight Technologies, ORAN Development Company, Astris AI, and NVIDIA demonstrated NetSense, an AI enabled drone detection and tracking system that uses existing 5G networks, said in a press release.
The companies said the live demonstration took place in a busy urban area and showed NetSense detecting, tracking, monitoring, and alerting on unmanned aircraft systems.
The system combines Lockheed Martin warning and tracking technology with AI based sensing, 5G network infrastructure, open architecture design, and components from the partner companies. It is designed for use at critical infrastructure, stadiums, power plants, schools, hospitals, and airports.
NetSense is planned as a subscription service. Pilot deployments are scheduled for the second half of 2026 and early 2027.
