Profound raised a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation. The company will expand its marketing AI platform and applied AI research teams.

Profound raised a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation, the company announced in a press release. Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins led the round together, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Saga Ventures, Evantic and South Park Commons.

Profound says its platform serves more than 1,000 enterprise brands and over one third of the Fortune 100. Customers include Walmart, Comcast, Estée Lauder, Zoom, ServiceNow, Ramp, MongoDB and Figma.

The company will use the funding to expand AI Marketer, an agent coordinator that analyzes brand data and assigns work to other agents. It will also develop Context Manager, which compiles information from company files, meeting transcripts and communications, and Ads Studio, which lets marketers build, launch and manage AI Search campaigns inside Profound, tracked with its own pixel and working across the OpenAI, Google and Meta ad managers.

Profound also plans to expand its applied AI labs in New York City and San Francisco. The research teams will evaluate AI models on marketing tasks, further train models for marketing work and develop a benchmark for complex assignments.
