KraneShares AI ETF AGIX Acquires Stake in Anthropic

KraneShares' AI ETF AGIX has acquired shares in Anthropic, marking a significant move as one of the first US-listed ETFs to invest directly in a private company.

KraneShares has announced that its Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF (AGIX) has acquired shares in Anthropic, a private AI research company. This acquisition makes AGIX one of the first US-listed exchange-traded funds to directly invest in a private company, announced in a press release.

As of the announcement, Anthropic represents 4.60% of AGIX's net assets. The ETF, launched in July 2024, was developed in collaboration with Etna Capital Management, known for its early-stage investments in AI innovators. AGIX aims to provide investors with exposure to high-growth private AI opportunities, with Anthropic being a key player in large language models and enterprise-focused AI solutions.

Anthropic, founded in 2021 and backed by major tech companies like Amazon and Google, focuses on developing safe and ethical AI systems. Its flagship product, the Claude AI assistant, is designed to offer advanced yet responsible AI capabilities for businesses.
