SK hynix to Launch U.S.-Based AI Solutions Arm with $10 Billion Commitment

January 28, 2026
SK hynix announced plans to establish a U.S.-based AI solutions firm, tentatively named AI Company (AI Co.), through the restructuring of its Solidigm subsidiary, with a $10 billion capital commitment to strengthen its role in the AI data center ecosystem.

SK hynix announced in a press release that it will establish a U.S.-based AI solutions arm, tentatively named AI Company (AI Co.), to drive growth in artificial intelligence and data center technologies. The new entity will act as the hub for SK Group’s AI strategies across global markets, including the United States and South Korea.

AI Co. will be formed through the restructuring of Solidigm, SK hynix’s California-based enterprise SSD manufacturing subsidiary. Solidigm will maintain its entity under the new name AI Co., while transferring its business operations to a new subsidiary, Solidigm Inc., to preserve the brand. SK hynix plans to commit $10 billion to AI Co., with the funds to be deployed on a capital-call basis.

The company said the new arm will leverage its high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and NAND technologies to offer optimized AI systems for data centers. It will also pursue strategic investments and collaborations with AI firms in the U.S. to enhance its competitiveness and expand its presence in the AI ecosystem.

The official corporate name of AI Co. will be announced later in 2026.
