Supermicro Orders 10,000 SambaNova SN50 RDUs

Nov 4, 2026
Supermicro will purchase 10,000 SambaNova SN50 RDUs for AI inference systems that combine the accelerators with NVIDIA GPUs.

Supermicro will initially purchase 10,000 SN50 Reconfigurable Data Units from SambaNova Systems, according to Data Center Dynamics. The companies will use the chips in AI inference systems that combine SambaNova RDUs with NVIDIA GPUs.

Supermicro will integrate, test, deliver and support the systems, including onsite service. SambaNova engineers will tune AI models for the SN50 and assist with deployments, starting with neocloud and sovereign cloud providers before expanding to enterprise data centers.

SambaNova introduced the SN50 in February 2026 for agentic AI inference. Its three tier memory design supports models with up to ten trillion parameters, while as many as 256 accelerators can be connected through a multi terabyte per second interconnect.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
