The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has signed a strategic agreement with OpenAI and Freedom Holding Corp. to introduce ChatGPT Edu to 165,000 educators across the country, announced in a press release. The initiative positions Kazakhstan among the first countries to deploy ChatGPT Edu at a national scale.

Under the agreement, Freedom Holding Corp. will finance the program, while OpenAI provides the ChatGPT Edu platform with localized support in Kazakh and Russian. The Kazakh Government will coordinate implementation through national education frameworks and professional development programs.

ChatGPT Edu offers advanced capabilities tailored for teachers, including unlimited uploads and research tools, customizable AI assistants for specific subjects, integration with learning management systems, and dedicated workspaces for assignments and grading. All educators will access the service via the BilimClass platform, free of charge.

The partnership supports Kazakhstan’s digital education strategy by enhancing educators’ digital skills and enabling the responsible use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
