Dark Matter acquires House Numbers AI agent platform
Dark Matter Technologies acquired the AI agent platform and intellectual property of House Numbers, according to National Mortgage Professional. House Numbers' developers will also join Dark Matter, bringing the technology into its Empower loan origination system.
The agents monitor loan files, respond to outstanding conditions, make recommendations, and communicate with borrowers and lenders through email, text, and voice. They can take permitted actions during loan processing while operating under lender defined access controls and human oversight.
Dark Matter says the House Numbers platform has processed loans for more than 100 lenders and has operated on live mortgage files for two years. The acquisition expands Empower's automation beyond document review and verification routing into tasks that loan officers and processors have traditionally handled.
