Autoware 2.0 Adds End to End AI Driving Models
Autoware Foundation released Autoware 2.0 with support for end to end AI and hybrid autonomous driving stacks, according to Automotive World. The release also adds a package registry and a framework for reference designs.
Autoware 2.0 uses several trajectory generators in parallel, with a selector choosing one trajectory. Developers can combine rule based, AI, and hybrid modules to test learned planning models alongside rule based code.
AI models are stored with version control on the foundation's Hugging Face page. Autoware Index lists compatible repositories, while a command line tool builds workspaces from selected packages or a complete reference design. Each design combines a deployment profile for a vehicle, hardware, and use case with a maintained software stack. Reference designs range from low speed shuttles to urban robotaxis. "Users often ask us how to go from Autoware's software to a complete autonomous vehicle," said Ryohsuke Mitsudome, chair of the foundation's Technical Steering Committee.
