NVIDIA Expands Hyperion Autonomous Vehicle Platform in Europe
NVIDIA announced in a press release that European automakers and mobility providers are using its Hyperion computing platform for autonomous vehicles, robotaxis and freight trucks. The projects involve Bolt Technology, Lucid, Volvo Cars, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Einride.
Bolt selected the NVIDIA Alpamayo Stack for a European robotaxi program using future Lucid vehicles built on Hyperion. It plans to start collecting driving data in Madrid in 2027, subject to regulatory approval, and targets at least 25,000 Level 4 capable vehicles across Europe. Volvo Cars will use Hyperion and Alpamayo Stack, while Mercedes-Benz is extending its work with NVIDIA on Level 3 and Level 4 systems.
NVIDIA also introduced Halos SAFE, a framework that connects simulation, software and hardware testing, road testing and fleet monitoring to produce traceable safety evidence. New development tools include the Alpamayo 2 Edge reasoning model, Cosmos 3 Nano model variants for synthetic data and simulation, and Alpamayo Agentic Factory, which is expected in early 2027.
