Accenture to Acquire Soben for Enhanced Data Center Development
Accenture has agreed to acquire Soben, a global construction consultancy firm based in Glasgow, Scotland, announced in a press release. This acquisition aims to enhance Accenture's capabilities in capital projects, particularly in data center development, as well as in the pharmaceutical and energy industries.
Soben, known for its expertise in project management, cost management, and carbon cost management, works with leading global hyperscalers and co-location providers on major data center construction projects. The company operates in regions including Western Europe, the US, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Australia, and will join Accenture's Industry X infrastructure and capital projects practice.
The acquisition comes at a time when the data center market is experiencing significant growth, driven by increased demand for cloud computing and AI. Accenture estimates an annual spend of over $200 billion in the US, Europe, and the Middle East for the next three to five years. By integrating Soben's expertise, Accenture aims to address the challenges faced by organizations in planning and executing data center projects efficiently.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, and the completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.
