XPENG announced in a press release that it launched the G9L flagship SUV in Beijing on September 17. The company will hold its global launch at the Paris Motor Show on October 12 before offering the vehicle in 64 markets, starting with France.

The G9L will come in battery electric and range extended electric versions. It uses XPENG's VLA 2.0 model for driving and cockpit functions, along with the same Turing AI chip used in the company's IRON humanoid robot.

XPENG said the vehicle completed 192 crash tests under Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C NCAP and CIASI protocols. Road testing across 26 countries and regions covered more than 6.74 million kilometers.

Production will take place in Guangzhou, China, and at Magna's facility in Graz, Austria. The G9L will be the fourth XPENG model produced in Graz, following the G6, G9 and P7+.
