xAI and CERAFILTEC Partner for Sustainable Water Management in AI Supercomputer Data Center
xAI and CERAFILTEC are collaborating to construct the world's largest ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR) to manage water sustainably at a supercomputing data center in Memphis, Tennessee. This initiative was announced in a press release by CERAFILTEC.
The project aims to reuse 49.2 million liters per day of municipal wastewater for cooling purposes, thereby conserving drinking water and protecting the Memphis Sands Aquifer. CERAFILTEC will supply its advanced ceramic membrane technology, known for its reliability and efficiency, to meet the project's demands.
This collaboration underscores xAI's commitment to sustainable practices by not only meeting its own cooling needs but also providing surplus treated water to local industries. The project is set for completion in 2025 and marks a significant step in promoting green practices within the tech industry.
