Warner Music and Suno Form Partnership for Licensed AI Music Platform
Warner Music Group and Suno AI have announced a partnership to create a licensed AI music platform that supports artists and songwriters, announced in a press release. The agreement also resolves earlier litigation between the two companies.
Under the deal, Suno will integrate its AI music technology with Warner Music’s catalog to enable new forms of music creation and discovery. Artists and songwriters will retain control over how their names, likenesses, voices, and compositions are used in AI-generated content. The partnership aims to introduce licensed AI models in 2026, replacing current versions of Suno’s tools.
Suno will also acquire Songkick, the live music and concert discovery platform, from Warner Music. Songkick will continue operating as a fan destination under Suno, linking interactive AI-generated music experiences with live performance opportunities.
Suno plans to update its platform next year, requiring paid accounts for audio downloads and introducing limits for paid users. Free-tier users will be able to play and share songs but not download them. The companies describe the collaboration as a framework for a next-generation licensed AI music ecosystem.
