PersonaShield Launches Platform for Creator Likeness Control in AI Era
PersonaShield has announced a new platform designed to help creators, influencers, and public figures manage how their image and likeness are used in the age of artificial intelligence, according to a press release. The service launches on June 26, 2026, and will be presented at VidCon in Anaheim on June 27.
The platform scans for unauthorized uses of a creator’s likeness, flags potential violations, and handles takedown requests. Users can upload their images, set permissions for how those images may be used, and define what should be blocked, allowed, or monetized. Fans can also pay for authorized use of a creator’s likeness, creating a licensed channel for fan-made content.
PersonaShield introduces what it calls a permission layer for AI identity. It includes three main components: a consent and rights registry that defines usage rules, automated monitoring and enforcement tools, and a brand-safe creation environment for licensed fan content. These systems work together to govern how digital likenesses are used and shared.
Founded by former Apple executive Phillip Shoemaker, the company aims to offer creators direct control over their digital identity. Shoemaker will host a VidCon session titled “Who Owns Your Face In the Age of AI,” which will include a demonstration of the platform.
