Insilico Medicine and SK Biopharmaceuticals Sign $2.5 Billion AI Drug Discovery Deal
Insilico Medicine and SK Biopharmaceuticals have entered a research and development collaboration to discover drug candidates for neuroimmune disorders, announced in a press release. The agreement, revealed at the BIO 2026 International Convention, has a potential total value exceeding 2.5 billion dollars.
Under the partnership, Insilico will use its Pharma.AI platform for target validation, generative chemistry, and molecule optimization. SK Biopharmaceuticals will oversee late-stage development and commercialization of resulting therapies targeting neuroimmune conditions affecting the central nervous system.
Insilico will receive up to 18 million dollars in upfront and near-term milestone payments, with additional payments tied to development, regulatory, and commercial milestones. The company will also earn single-digit royalties on net sales once products reach the market.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the discovery of therapies for neuroinflammatory, neurodegenerative, and rare neurological disorders by combining Insilico’s AI-based research capabilities with SK Biopharmaceuticals’ clinical expertise.
