Taxwire has raised $25 million in combined Seed and Series A funding to scale its AI-powered sales tax automation platform, which helps businesses manage compliance across 22,000 U.S. jurisdictions and over 100 countries.

Taxwire has raised $25 million in combined Seed and Series A funding to expand its AI powered sales tax automation platform, announced in a press release. The round included participation from Headline Ventures, XYZ VC, Vinyl, Recall Capital, and Nomo Ventures.

The New York based company automates sales tax compliance for businesses operating across more than 22,000 U.S. jurisdictions and over 100 countries. Its platform integrates with accounting and billing systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, and NetSuite to automate tax calculations, product coding, and filing workflows.

Taxwire’s system combines AI and human expertise to manage the full compliance lifecycle, offering features like product labeling automation, anomaly detection, and jurisdiction specific support through Slack. The company employs a team with experience from Stripe, TaxJar, EY, Avalara, and state tax agencies.

Led by cofounders Andrew Rea and Steven Schmatz, Taxwire plans to use the new funding to scale its managed tax infrastructure and enhance its automated geocoding capabilities. It currently serves companies including Coder, Omni, Middesk, and Honeystack.
