BrainChip and Orama.AOI Partner on AI Visual Inspection for Factories

BrainChip and Orama.AOI are combining Akida with optimized machine vision models for factory defect detection, with stated power use of 4 to 6 watts and lower system costs.
BrainChip Holdings Ltd has partnered with Taiwan's Orama.AOI to bring low power AI visual inspection to factory environments. The joint system runs Orama.AOI's optimized models on BrainChip's Akida platform for industrial inspection at the edge.
The companies stated that the system runs locally, reducing reliance on cloud or GPU processing. They said it can cut overall system costs by 3 times to 5 times while operating on 4 to 6 watts of power.
The system supports remote software updates to improve performance without replacing hardware. One target use case is tire defect assessment, which is often handled with expensive hardware or manual inspection.
BrainChip is listed on the ASX under BRN.
