White House Launches Gold Eagle Cybersecurity Coordination Program

The White House has launched the Gold Eagle initiative, announced in a press release, establishing a national system for cybersecurity vulnerability coordination across government and industry sectors. The program is part of Executive Order 14409, signed by President Donald Trump on June 2, 2026, titled “Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security.”

Gold Eagle is designed to accelerate the detection and mitigation of cybersecurity weaknesses that affect U.S. critical infrastructure. The Department of the Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security through the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the Department of War are among the key partners supporting the initiative. The system leverages frontier artificial intelligence capabilities to speed up patching processes, reduce redundant scanning, and provide prioritized threat information.

According to statements from federal officials, Gold Eagle has already begun collecting and prioritizing reports of vulnerabilities from industry partners and coordinating verification and remediation steps. The initiative aims to strengthen protections for financial systems, national security infrastructure, and other vital sectors.

The administration stated that Gold Eagle will serve as an operational hub connecting government agencies and private sector innovators to defend against cyber threats while advancing the use of AI in national defense technologies.
