Cyber Florida and SimSpace Share Results From Tampa Cyber Exercise
In a press release, Cyber Florida and SimSpace shared findings from the 2026 Jack Voltaic Tampa cyber resilience exercise, which tested response to simulated attacks on regional water infrastructure. The exercise focused on IT and operational technology readiness for utilities and public sector organizations.
The three day exercise included more than 100 participants from government, utilities, military organizations, emergency management agencies, and private industry. Participants included Tampa Bay Water, U.S. Water Corporation, CISA, the FBI, U.S. Cyber Command, and U.S. Central Command.
The scenario simulated a coordinated cyberattack on regional water treatment operations. Participants worked to detect malicious activity, investigate activity across IT and operational technology environments, coordinate with agencies and operators, and report operational impacts to leadership.
The exercise combined SimSpace's cyber simulation platform with the DECIDE platform from NUARI. Cyber Florida said the setup let technical responders and executive teams work through the same scenario at the same time.
Cyber Florida's after action review said participants improved shared situational awareness, built unified incident timelines, and translated technical findings into decisions for leadership. SimSpace also connected the exercise to its AI Proving Grounds work, which tests human defenders and AI systems against simulated attacks before deployment.
