Ultima Genomics and NVIDIA Collaborate on Pangenome Sequencing Analysis
Ultima Genomics announced in a press release a collaboration with NVIDIA on pangenome aware analysis for whole genome sequencing. The work combines Ultima's sequencing platform, NVIDIA accelerated computing and Google's open source DeepVariant software.
The companies are benchmarking workflows that use pangenome graph alignment against conventional linear reference pipelines. Testing uses genetically diverse human genomes, high confidence reference data and resources from the Human Pangenome Reference Consortium.
The project also covers infrastructure for processing large sequencing datasets. NVIDIA Parabricks provides versions of Giraffe and DeepVariant that use graphics processors for alignment and variant calling.
