Illumina Adds Three Research Tools to BioInsight Platform

Oct 21, 2026
Illumina has added Workflow Orchestrator, DRAGEN Ultra and Learning Cohorts to its BioInsight Platform through early access.

Illumina is adding three early access tools to its BioInsight Platform, launched on October 14, the company said in a press release. Workflow Orchestrator, DRAGEN Ultra and Learning Cohorts are available to early access customers.

Workflow Orchestrator connects sample tracking, sequencer planning, secondary analysis, quality control and software for generating research insights. It records inputs, software versions, settings and quality metrics for each sample, while a visual builder lets laboratories configure workflows from Illumina templates.

DRAGEN Ultra combines Illumina AI models and knowledge resources to prioritize variants for further study. It includes dnaAI, a model that predicts which variants may explain an observed phenotype, as well as PrimateAI-3D, PromoterAI and SpliceAI2. Illumina said dnaAI increased disease associations across unsolved cases by 8% in its research and placed established disease associated variants among its top four candidates in 99.4% of analyzed genomes.

Learning Cohorts lets researchers explore genomic, multiomic and phenotypic data across private sample collections. Users can build cohorts based on a research question, compare individual findings with larger populations and examine associations across groups.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
