Lucid and Bolt Plan 25,000 Autonomous Vehicles in Europe

Bolt plans to deploy at least 25,000 autonomous vehicles based on Lucid's upcoming Midsize platform across European cities and countries.

Lucid and Bolt plan to develop autonomous mobility services and deploy at least 25,000 vehicles across Europe, the companies said in a press release. The vehicles will use Lucid's upcoming Midsize platform and operate in multiple European cities and countries.

The planned vehicle platform will support SAE Level 4 autonomous driving and use NVIDIA Hyperion, a reference architecture and development platform that combines computing hardware with a standard sensor suite. Lucid will provide its software defined vehicle platform and expertise in AI, driver assistance and autonomous driving.

Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions will lead product development, integration and commercial operations. Bolt plans to own and operate the fleet while building the required infrastructure, operating systems and city partnerships. The deployment will contribute to Bolt's target of operating 100,000 autonomous vehicles on its platform by 2035.
