DefendEye Integrates Starlink Mini for Global Drone Connectivity
DefendEye has integrated Starlink Mini into its tube-launched autonomous drones, enabling instant global connectivity without the need for cellular coverage, announced in a press release. This integration allows the drones to stream live, high-definition video to operations centers and mobile subscribers worldwide.
The portable launch-tube, which can deploy the drone in under 10 seconds, now includes Starlink Mini alongside an optional 4G/5G modem. This ensures seamless operation in diverse environments such as cities, deserts, mountains, or offshore locations. The ultra-light airframe of the drone, weighing under 250 grams, meets regulatory thresholds that eliminate the need for pilot licensing in most regions.
Equipped with a 2 TOPS neural processor, the drone autonomously detects, identifies, tracks, and follows humans in various conditions without external remote control. The encrypted HD video stream is routed through the DefendEye Cloud for real-time viewing and alerting. The drones are priced at $599 each, making them a cost-effective solution for agencies looking to deploy fleets without the overhead of traditional UAV budgets.
DefendEye is currently conducting live demonstrations and accepting orders, with fully integrated systems and demo kits expected to ship in September 2025.
