Orbius and Armada Launch Edge Cloud Service for Remote AI
Orbius Communications introduced an edge cloud solution that integrates its StarEDGE platform with the modular edge computing infrastructure of Armada, Orbius said in a press release. Orbius, an official partner in the Armada ecosystem, says the offering delivers connectivity across multiple satellite constellations and compute for AI workloads at the edge as a single managed system.
StarEDGE combines multiple low Earth orbit satellite networks with 5G, LTE and high throughput satellite connections. Orbius routes customer traffic over private Layer 2 paths that end in regional data centers rather than on the public internet, so data stays on secure infrastructure from the satellite link to the edge workload. Orbius says AI capable operations can be set up within weeks.
The solution is available now for maritime, energy, government, telecommunications and enterprise customers, supported by Orbius offices in the United States, Iceland, Brazil, Ireland, France, Spain, Norway and the United Arab Emirates.
