DJI Dock 4 automatically swaps drone batteries in 25 seconds and includes the Matrice 5TD, which can detect 17 types of objects using onboard AI.

DJI announced in a press release the Dock 4, a drone station that can automatically swap batteries in 25 seconds. The system includes the new Matrice 5TD enterprise drone and supports remote deployment for public safety, infrastructure inspections, security and surveying.

The Matrice 5TD can fly for up to 59 minutes and travel at up to 21 meters per second. Its sensors include telephoto and infrared cameras, laser ranging, millimeter wave radar, LiDAR and six direction vision sensing. DJI says drone-to-cloud latency is up to 160 milliseconds, down about 32% from the previous generation.

Onboard AI can detect 17 types of objects, including cars, boats and animals. Operators can use DJI FlightHub 2 to search live feeds with text or images and configure alerts that trigger recording, tracking, hovering or snapshots. Dock 4 will be sold through authorized DJI Enterprise dealers.
