Anthropic says price cuts offset $600 million of quarterly revenue growth
Anthropic says in an amended SEC registration filing that price reductions for new models and contract discounts offset about $600 million of revenue growth from higher usage in the three months ended September 30, 2026. Quarterly revenue reached $17 billion.
Compute and infrastructure expenses rose to 58% of revenue, up from 48% in the previous quarter. The latest figure included $5 billion of compute obtained through short term commitments, which Anthropic said costs significantly more than comparable capacity secured through multi year commitments.
Anthropic reported a $567 million operating loss for the quarter, compared with operating income of $974 million in the previous quarter. The change also reflected $2 billion in noncash charges related to its donation matching program. Adjusted operating income increased from $2.2 billion to $2.5 billion, while adjusted operating margin fell from 19% to 15%.
