Anthropic plans to offer up to $3.5 billion of shares to Japanese investors through its US initial public offering.

Anthropic plans to sell up to $3.5 billion worth of shares to Japanese investors as part of its US initial public offering, a regulatory filing showed on Monday, The Business Times reports. The new shares issued to Japanese investors will go to working capital, operating expenses and capital expenditure, the filing said.

The filing did not state the size or valuation of the IPO. Some investors have discussed a valuation of about $1.5 trillion for the company, Reuters has reported. Apart from Japan, investors in Australia, Canada and parts of Europe will also be able to buy into the offering.

Mizuho Securities will manage the Japanese portion, while Goldman Sachs, Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities and Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities are among the firms handling investor orders. Mizuho Financial Group and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group are among the underwriters. For comparison, Japanese investors secured $2.2 billion of the $75 billion raised in SpaceX's IPO in June.

The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
