WPP and Google Expand AI Partnership with $400 Million Commitment
WPP and Google have announced a five-year expansion of their collaboration to advance AI and cloud technologies in marketing, announced in a press release. The partnership includes a $400 million investment from WPP in Google technologies, aimed at accelerating the development of AI-driven marketing solutions through WPP’s AI platform, WPP Open.
The initiative will allow WPP clients to build custom AI models using Google Cloud’s tools, including Gemini and DeepMind models, to improve campaign speed and personalization. WPP Media’s Open Intelligence will use Google Cloud’s AI to create audience models with faster deployment and measurable results.
WPP will also integrate Google’s latest AI models, such as Veo and Imagen, into its creative workflows, enabling the production of video and image assets in days instead of weeks. The partnership extends to secure data collaboration using InfoSum’s Bunkers on Google Marketplace, allowing privacy-compliant data analysis for marketing applications.
In addition, Google will join WPP’s Creative Technology Apprenticeship as the main curriculum partner. The program aims to train over 1,000 creative technologists by 2030, equipping them with AI and coding skills for the evolving marketing landscape.
