World Humanoid Robot Games Adds Autonomous Races and Robot Hand Contest
The 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games will feature 666 teams and 2,056 robots from 16 countries across six continents, according to a China.org.cn report distributed through PR Newswire. The robot count is four times higher than at the first edition.
This year adds three competitive events, including table tennis and kickboxing. Track events such as the 400 meter, 1,500 meter, and 4x100 meter relay will be fully autonomous, with no human remote control or intervention during the races.
A new contest for dexterous robotic hands will include eight tasks, such as power tool assembly, powder weighing, bottle opening, and lid prying. The event also adds 21 scenario based contests across nine settings, including household cleaning, hotel services, and emergency rescue.
Organizers have invited guests from factories, hotels, and other user enterprises to watch the practical scenario events on site. The format places sports contests, hand tasks, and workplace simulations in the same competition program.
