Unitree Robotics Shares Jump in Shanghai Market Debut

Unitree Robotics closed up 460.3 percent in its first day of trading on Shanghai's STAR Market, valuing the company at 341.77 billion yuan, China Daily reported via PR Newswire. The stock opened on the same day as the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing and reached as high as 1,100 yuan, up 629.44 percent from its IPO price, before closing at 845 yuan.

The conference featured more than 300 Chinese and overseas companies and over 3,000 robots and related products. Exhibits included humanoid, industrial and medical robots, along with dexterous hands, reducers, sensors and embodied AI models.

Unitree demonstrated its H1 humanoid robot, which can run at a peak speed of 10 meters per second. Galbot showed a humanoid robot that can learn to play tennis.

Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, said revenue at major robotics companies in China reached 165.5 billion yuan in the first half of the year, up 24.5 percent from a year earlier. He said China will work on core robotics components and embodied AI, and expand robot use in agriculture, healthcare, elderly care and emergency response.
