Wirex has introduced Wirex Agents, a non-custodial infrastructure layer that allows AI agents to create stablecoin cards, open virtual accounts, and perform autonomous financial transactions on-chain, announced in a press release.

The system is available to developers and partners building AI-native financial workflows and programmable payment solutions. It operates on Wirex BaaS, the company’s stablecoin payment layer, enabling AI systems to manage transactions without taking custody of funds.

Through Wirex’s regulated connectivity, AI agents can access stablecoin-powered Visa cards, virtual bank accounts, push-to-card payments, cross-border transfers, and cashback-as-a-service infrastructure. The company’s on-chain payment volume currently exceeds $840 million annually.

As part of the launch, Wirex introduced two components—an MCP server (Machine Commerce Protocol) and Agent skills—designed to make financial execution practical within AI-driven workflows.
