Workday has introduced new features in Workday Build that allow developers to create, connect, and verify AI agents for HR, finance, and IT. The update includes Developer Agent, Agent Ready Tools, and Agent Passport, with general availability expected in 2026.

Enterprise software company Workday, Inc. announced in a press release new capabilities in Workday Build, its platform for developers to create AI applications and agents for HR, finance, and IT.

The update introduces three main components. Developer Agent allows developers to build AI apps and agents using plain language within familiar tools. Agent Ready Tools provide controlled access to HR and finance data through the Model Context Protocol, giving agents precise business context while reducing errors. Agent Passport issues digital verification stamps from trusted security and compliance vendors to confirm agents are safe to deploy.

Developer Agent and Agent Ready Tools are now available to early access customers. Workday expects general availability for these features in the second half of 2026.
