SAP Adds Agent Tools and AI Governance to Its Business AI Platform

Oct 27, 2026
SAP introduced new tools for building, managing and governing AI agents, alongside updated tabular AI models and a planned deployment aboard the International Space Station.

SAP announced in a press release new agent building, data and governance capabilities at SAP TechEd. The updates cover Joule Studio, Joule Work and SAP Business AI Platform.

Joule Studio now supports no code and pro code tools for building agents with access to more than 70 AI models. Early adopters can also design and run n8n workflows. Joule Work adds planning and orchestration for multistep workflows, while a governed gateway lets outside agents invoke Joule Agents through open protocols including Agent2Agent and Model Context Protocol.

SAP Enterprise AI Gateway will centralize authentication, policy enforcement, routing, monitoring, usage tracking and auditing for AI traffic. SAP also added controls for monitoring agent behavior, model use and spending, plus an AI Governance Assistant designed to support compliance with the EU AI Act.

The company introduced SAP-RPT-2.0 for classification, regression, anomaly detection and analysis of structured data. A separate SAP-RPT-TS model will forecast time indexed business metrics. SAP and HPE also plan to run SAP-RPT aboard the International Space Station, where it will analyze sensor data, identify anomalies, reconstruct missing values and create mission health reports without sending data back to Earth for analysis.
