Perplexity launches Teammates, agents that own ongoing work inside Computer

Nov 8, 2026
Perplexity's teammates plan and coordinate long-running projects, remember past work and can be added to Slack channels; they launch for Max subscribers.

Perplexity has launched teammates, personal agents that take on long-running work inside its Computer product, the company announced on 4 November. A teammate plans and coordinates projects, switches gears as priorities change and presents results for review, while users can inspect and guide its work.

Teammates remember project goals, task history and shared files across runs, and monitor ongoing work so they can act without waiting for a new query. Perplexity's example is a sales teammate that notices when a regular customer stops buying, reviews the account and drafts an offer or flags issues first. Teammates can be added to a Slack channel so colleagues can hand them work, and they can pass tasks to each other.

Each teammate runs in a separate environment with its own browser sessions, and saved credentials are encrypted. Teammates launch on the web for Perplexity Max subscribers, with iOS to follow. The New Stack notes it is unclear how Perplexity prevents agents from accessing resources beyond their permissions when tasks are handed off.
