Perplexity Brings Fully Local Computer Workflows to Mac
Perplexity AI now lets users run its Computer workflows entirely on compatible Macs, according to Engadget. The feature requires a recent Apple Silicon Mac with at least 36 GB of memory.
Users can run either Qwen 3.6 or PPLX Pro locally. PPLX Pro is Perplexity's version of Qwen 3.6, with additional training for Computer tasks. Users can also authorize the software to call more than 15 cloud models when needed.
Computer can access local apps such as Notes and Mail without sending their data to the cloud. Code and tool execution runs in an isolated sandbox. The local option is available through the latest Perplexity Mac app for Pro, Max, and Enterprise subscribers.
