Perplexity Launches Persistent AI Teammates for Max Subscribers

Nov 5, 2026
Perplexity introduces Teammates, persistent AI agents that handle recurring work, coordinate with other agents and request human approval when needed.

Perplexity AI introduced Teammates on its website, a feature that lets users assign ongoing work to persistent AI agents. The feature is available to Perplexity Max subscribers.

Each teammate receives a role, standing instructions and rules for requesting human input. Agents retain context from previous work, operate in a persistent conversation, coordinate with other agents and contact coworkers through Slack. They can also use the projects, memory, skills, plugins and permissions already configured in Perplexity Computer.

Perplexity's examples include an on-call engineer that watches monitors and pages a person only for approvals, a teammate that runs ad campaigns within spending caps, and one that redlines contracts against standard terms. Teammates can work in the background and notify users when a decision or approval is required. Max plans include free usage during a promotional period, after which Teammates will consume credits from the subscriber's monthly allowance.
